Our Story

Woodley Acres Pet Resort (est. 2016) was founded on what is known by many locals as the Woodley Farm, located directly north of the town of Indian Head, Saskatchewan. The Woodley Family settled on the property in the 1930s, planted many trees found on the property today including the picturesque elm tree lane. They farmed the land and supported their local community of Indian Head until they moved on in the 1970s.

Fast forward to the present, Jim, Josh, Ben & Steph Royal purchased the farm with the intent to build a state of the art Pet Resort where pets and their owners can enjoy the beauty and space the property provides. Woodley Acres Pet Resort (formerly Woodley Acres Pet Boarding) offers 12 acres of beautiful treed property where our furry guests can enjoy and explore safely. Positioned strategically north of the town of Indian Head, just off Highway #56, Woodley Acres Pet Resort is a retreat for your dog or cat with the convenience of being located near the resort village of Katepwa and minutes from the Trans-Canada Highway.

Woodley Acres Pet Resort is owned and operated by the Royal family. Jim, Josh, Steph, & Ben Royal share a culture of care - all of whom are Health Care professionals who have dedicated their knowledge and expertise toward the care of pets. They have created a culture of care, professionalism and ongoing education for Woodley Acres. As active members in the International Boarding & Pet Services Association and supporters of the Professional Animal Care Certification Counci l, we empower our team to provide the right care that your pet(s) deserve.

From the first time we took our big happy girl, Penny, to stay at Woodley Acres when we went on a summer vacation, we knew she was in the best hands. The team at Woodley gave Penny as much love and care and attention as she would get at home, and treated her and us like we were family. The communication from them through the whole process of booking, check-ins, and pickup is consistently excellent. We never worry about Penny when she’s at Woodley, and when we book a trip or need to be away, we don’t have to think twice about what we will do with our special gal. The team at Woodley is passionate about looking after people’s pet family members, and they do it incredibly well! We feel so lucky to have such a loving place to take Penny. Every time we pick her up, she is happy, healthy, and content, and has clearly had plenty of interaction and play time (she’s usually pretty tuckered out the first day she comes home). We can tell that the team at Woodley also work with Penny on her basic obedience/manners skills while she is with them, because she comes home just as well behaved (and sometimes better) than when we dropped her off. We can’t say enough great things about our experiences with Woodley, and highly recommend them to anyone looking for somewhere to board their furry family members.
