When it comes to taking care of your fur babies, we take it very seriously. After all, it is the primary reason we started Woodley Acres Pet Resort – we treat each of our guests as if they were our own. We don’t take it lightly, and in all seriousness, our care standards and practices are derived from many standards placed in the human health care setting since us founding owners come from a background in health care.
It is why it made sense for us to pursue certification in PACCC (Professional Animal Care Certification Council). It is an international third party organization that provides certification for people in the pet care industry who have training and knowledge to provide care for people’s furry family members. Successful completion of the written exam is results in certification in best practices and care used in everyday pet care centres around the world.
Just some of the topics include understanding of canine body language, first aid and medical emergencies, administration of medications, anatomy, off- leash play safety, providing care to puppies and geriatric pets, pet care operational standards, and so much more!
We are super proud to have paved the way to this important step in modern day pet care- where Ben Royal, one of the founding owners and general manager is the first PACCC certified in Saskatchewan!
Woodley Acres plans to carry on this momentum heading into 2021 with encouraging our entire team to write the exam – as pets are family, and we would never want care provided to a human from someone who is not certified to do so. Why isn’t this the case for pets?
